  • At the Kazakh National University (KazNU) research lab, I had the opportunity to dive into a fascinating research project studying the effects of ethanol (essentially, alcohol) on the liver and how dietary supplements might help protect against these effects. My focus was on understanding how ethanol affects liver cells and how a supplement called "Revival Plus" balm could reduce toxicity and support liver health. I worked with a team to examine how the liver structure changes after exposure to ethanol, using histology (looking at tissue structures under a microscope) and blood tests to measure different health markers.

Through this research, I learned valuable lab skills like preparing tissue samples, observing cellular changes under a microscope, and analyzing biochemical data. I also gained a deep understanding of how toxins impact the body and how supplements might play a role in protecting against these effects.

This experience taught me about the importance of careful experimentation and accuracy in scientific work, as every small detail counts. It also showed me how scientific research can lead to real-world solutions—like creating better supplements to help people exposed to toxins. Working on this project boosted my confidence in the lab and strengthened my ability to analyze data and think critically, which will be essential in my future studies and career.
